BMI Calculator
Our BMI calculator, located at the bottom of this page, lets you determine your Body Mass
Index to assess if your weight is in a healthy range. BMI
calculators provide an exact measurement, and a better indicator of
healthy weight range than a height and weight chart. The Body Mass
Index on this page is for adults, not children.
BMI calculators provide a Body Mass Index that is likely to
change as you grow older. But, the healthy BMI range for adults also changes
with age. A sixty year old is not likely to have the body shape,
muscle mass or weight as a twenty year old. To adjust for age
factors, it is permissible to add one point to your healthy BMI for every decade
beginning at age 45.
BMI calculator standards are set by WHO - the World
Health Organization. The current BMI standards are included in our
calculator. A BMI of 25 - 29.9 is considered overweight and a BMI over 30
is considered obese. These standards have change over time and may change
again.
